Red Nose Day 2013

This year Red Nose Day celebrates its 25th anniversary….25 years of raising money to help thousands of people in this country and abroad. I bought some t-shirts for me and my Grandsons, bought a Dino toy for GS1, a wristband for me and made a donation here. Hope you enjoy the photos of us in our t-shirts…if you do, make a donation HERE.

She Art 3

A class from the lovely Christy Tomlinson at Scarlet Lime which I am trying to make some sense of in my jumbled room! I’ve managed to do a Pinterest board of inspirational faces and have added some sketches of them. The next task was to produce some backgrounds on canvas…I’ve completed four with background patterned paper that now need painting over in paler shades. These will be the bases for my portraits… I need to watch the video lessons for this yet. Below are some of my efforts…..

Syria Crisis

Save the Children & UNHCR have broadcast an appeal today because the situation in Syria is getting much worse.
‘Sana* is one of MILLIONS of children who’ve been scarred by the brutal civil war in Syria.
Today, the numbers fleeing Syria topped 1 million. We’re doing whatever we can to provide food, warm coats and access to education across different areas in Syria and in neighbouring countries. But we urgently need YOUR help to bring this back to the top of world leaders’ agendas.
On March 14 – the eve of the second anniversary of the conflict’s outbreak – we’re holding a Global Vigil… for Syria to send a message to the world’s five most powerful leaders. You can join us in demanding they unite to help bring peace to Syria and get aid to victims. Use Facebook to add your message: just sign up now and, on March 14, we’ll launch all your messages at the same moment.

#motography 2013

I’ve just finished this class with Jessica Sprague and found it really enjoyable and very useful to find the ‘ins and outs’ of my new mobile phone, even if only from the photography point of view. It involved using instagram and other apps to take, edit and send photos hassle free and craft projects by Heidi Swapp to display and make cards from the photos. It’s surprising how much you can do just on the phone and the apps are either free or available at a very small cost…I think I spent just over £6 altogether to download and buy all the bits and pieces. Much better than the hundreds of pounds you can spend on editing software! A gallery of my work follows and can also be seen on my instagram page. Hope you have fun looking at them and that you’ll contact Jessica if you would like her to run the class again 🙂 There are also instructions for an instagram stand to display a photo, but it involves joining pieces of wood together, so I haven’t got round to that part yet!!!!!
